Indonesia.md Brings Together Indonesian Doctors Worldwide to Form a Knowledge Sharing Cloud

Indonesia builds cloud-based knowledge infrastructure to address shortage of specialists

22 August 2025Indonesia.md, the Indonesian healthcare-focused division of Borderless Healthcare Group, is set to develop a solution to support the shortage of specialists in the largest healthcare market in Southeast Asia.

“We hope to add value to the national medical knowledge development in Indonesia by allowing local specialists, diaspora specialists and global experts to share knowledge in one unified immersive cloud platform which can be deployed seamlessly from local hospitals, local clinics to even resorts and homes at a later stage,” says Dr Wei Siang Yu, founder and chairman of Borderless Healthcare Group.

Indonesia.md has appointed Dr Anindita Santosa, a distinguished rheumatologist in private practice, to lead the recruitment of diaspora doctors around the world. Dr Santosa was born in Germany and educated in Singapore. After earning her MBBS from the prestigious Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, Dr. Santosa completed her training and earned membership in the Royal College of Physicians (UK, London) and further obtained a Master’s degree in Allergy and Integrated Immunology from Imperial College London and University of Oxford respectively.

The rapid development of international medical hubs sprouting throughout different special economic zones in Indonesia has accelerated the country’s need for medical knowledge. In addition to the government’s effort to encourage diaspora doctors to return home, the development of the abovementioned knowledge sharing cloud that is capable of enabling instant knowledge osmosis is vital to supporting the government’s overall medical tourism and healthcare internationalisation ambition.

“I am very excited about the glocalisation of medical knowledge coupled with the advancement of cloud-based technologies and artificial intelligence. Indonesia, the fourth most populous country in the world, can soon herald a new era of technology-enabled knowledge-based healthcare! All Indonesian doctors, whether overseas or in Indonesia, can contribute to this knowledge sharing cloud and play a role in serving our nation!” says Dr Anindita Santosa.

Diaspora doctors around the world can register his or her interests at www.indonesia.md and explore the opportunity to join this knowledge sharing cloud.
