DR. KENNETH LEONG
One of the Pioneers in Benign Robotic Gynaecology Surgery in Australia
Dr. Kenneth Leong is one of the pioneers in Benign Robotic Gynaecology Surgery in Australia. He is an experienced Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Gynaecology surgeon, an infertility specialist and a senior IVF consultant with the internationally renowned Monash IVF in Australia. He specialises in the treatment of surgical-related diseases of infertility, such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis. He also performs laparoscopic tubal reversal surgery. He is a passionate proponent of minimally invasive gynaecology surgery in Australia.
Dr. Leong holds a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Monash Medical Centre and Box Hill Hospital in 2005. He went on to complete advanced laparoscopic preceptorship training with the Monash Medical Centre Endosurgery Unit and the Sydney Women’s Endoscopic Surgery unit in 2006 and 2007. At the end of 2007, Dr Leong travelled to Ohio Columbus USA for further training in minimally invasive surgical techniques with the da Vinci robotic system. Dr. Leong took over the practice of Dr. Bruce Downing, a pioneer in IVF in Australia who retired in 2008.
Dr. Leong is an Endosurgeon with the esteemed Gynaecology Endosurgical Unit at Monash Health. He performs and teaches Advanced Laparoscopic surgery to gynaecology trainees and specialists and mentors medical students during their undergraduate years from Monash University. He is also a regular guest speaker at GP lecture series with Monash IVF discussing topics like egg freezing, combined factor infertility, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, sperm donors and more.
