PRESS RELEASE
Borderless Healthcare Group Introduces Global Artificial Heart Solutions to Indonesia via Subsidiary Indonesia.md
Hospitals and clinics in Indonesia will soon be supported by Indonesia’s first medical knowledge sharing cloud, “Indonesia.md”, where Indonesian doctors can co-care a local patient with local or global renowned specialists from their own consult room.

22nd May 2025 – Jakarta, Indonesia – Borderless Healthcare Group (BHG), a global leader in healthcare technology, media, telecommunications, services, and content (TMTSC), today announced the launch of its global artificial heart implant solutions in Indonesia through its subsidiary Indonesia.md. This initiative marks a significant milestone in addressing one of the country’s most urgent health crises—heart failure, which affects more than 10 million Indonesians annually, with mortality rates exceeding 30% in the absence of artificial heart intervention.

Through Indonesia.md, patients in Indonesia will soon have access to a range of world-class artificial heart implants, available in various sizes, weights, and battery capacities, enabling physicians to tailor treatments for patients ranging from infants to adults. This offering aims to bring life-saving innovation to a population with growing needs for advanced cardiac care.

Pioneering MedTech 5.0 and Minimally Invasive Artificial Heart Implant

This deployment is part of BHG’s broader rollout of MedTech 5.0—an integrated, AI-driven healthcare ecosystem powered by its global medical cloud platform. The system connects top cardiovascular specialists with leading artificial heart manufacturers, enabling a cross-border network for telemedicine, artificial heart implant evaluation, remote monitoring, and post-operative support.

“The convergence of top ‘glocal’ medical experts for cross-border artificial heart implant evaluation, best-in-class medical device innovations, and specialty-specific agentic AI networks is ushering in a new era of borderless healthcare delivery in Indonesia,” said Dr. Wei Siang Yu, founder and chairman of Borderless Healthcare Group.

In addition to conventional open-heart surgery, minimally invasive implantation techniques will also be introduced in Indonesia to reduce recovery times and minimize post-operative complications.

Dr. Cui Yong, China’s first cardiothoracic surgeon to pioneer minimally invasive artificial heart implantation, emphasized: “We are continually refining our protocols to make artificial heart implantation safer, faster, and more accessible—significantly improving patient outcomes.”

Evaluation, Access and Medical Collaboration

Registration is now open for end-stage heart failure patients seeking artificial heart implant evaluation via www.indonesia.md/artificial-heart/. As part of the evaluation process, local doctors can work with overseas specialists to assess if patients are to be treated in Indonesia or overseas subject to the condition and heart failure solutions needed for the patient.

Concurrently, cross-border knowledge exchange collaboration and training programs will begin for Indonesian doctors and allied health professionals. These programs will lay the groundwork for a robust ‘glocal’ MedTech 5.0 foundation, ensuring long-term support for heart failure patients across the country.

Highlighting the significance of this milestone, Dr. Timothy Low, CEO of Indonesia.md, stated: “This initiative represents a transformative leap forward for cardiac care in Indonesia. By introducing global artificial heart solutions to local patients, we are not just extending lives—we are redefining the boundaries of precision and compassionate healthcare.”
